Personally, you can't compare tmv albums, because it's about growing into the music, growing up as a young progressive band... not every album has the same musicians. #tmv

Definitely agreed. Band is pretty directionless, because their stated focus is about changes in the music, band changes genre with every song on an individual LP, etc.

those things are okay with me, i just think they're getting worse at it over time. i've also outgrown them somewhat since i first heard them.

Deloused sounds pretty childish now that I am older... you can see atdi present there, but I am not going to deny that Deloused is a classic, even now. A lot of changes, but just as many solid hooks that make listening an enjoyable experience.

my AOTY so far but there's a handful of other releases that are close, and number of upcoming albums that could definitely de-throne it.
btw Frances is not only my favorite album of theirs, it's also in my top 10 of all time.

I disagree that "Whip Hand" is a weak track. I hated it upon first listen but it shaped up to be one of my favorites. Great review.
