This is one of those albums I feel I should like more than I do because it's so impressive. But quite a bit of it leaves me cold.

This has to be one of the best albums I have ever heard. I will be listening to this for years to come. A definite future classic!

Reality Dream 3 is great. Production needs to be A LOT better and the drums sound timid as usual.

To each their own I guess, but I find this to be their best produced album by far.

ADHD is their best produced album imo (and their best composed). SLS is way too dull and muddy, you realise that even more when you listen to the live performance "Live at Paradiso" in Amsterdam. I hate how they disregard the drums, there's always some issue with them, usually they feel way too timid.

But this was the first album I heard of theirs and the atmosphere made me orgasm, I turned you down, hot damn. And thats when my love affair began with this band.
|
| |
The lyrical content on this album comes across as rather awkward and weakens the emotional impact that was intended. Likely due to the fact that English isn't their first language, but It makes some parts seem unintentionally silly.
"I'm so happy when they F you"? Really?

ADHD is good but they lost all subtlety with that album. I think the keyboards were way better when they were atmospheric, on ADHD they're just loud. I guess you have a point with the drums but that's probably the element of Riverside I care about the least. The guitars, keyboards, vocals, and overall atmosphere win out on their first 2 albums for me easily.

ADHDs mix is definitely it's biggest flaw. The keyboards are too loud and the drums and guitars are low in the mix, but I love Michals keyboard playing and the fact that the album feels more organic (plus I'm a sucker for the hammond organ so...). Plus the band has always favoured keyboards. And I think it's only fair to allow Michal and Piotr K to flex their muscles as well, you can't expect them to do the same thing every album.
I think you care about the drums the least BECAUSE they're so low and timid in the mix. In ADHD he turned the drumming up a notch with some interesting fills and aggressive playing. Anyway the band is great and I'm really looking forward to the new album. The new single ain't anything new but it's a single so... But I enjoyed it.

Yeah, I Turned You Down is sexy as hell. Easily my favourite Riverside track.

It's definitely up there, there are loads of great tracks so the best is difficult to choose. Left Out and Hybrid Times are really high on the list, Hybrid might be my top pick.

I'm definitely cool with them changing it up and that's why overall I like ADHD more than Rapid Eye Movement. That said, I hope they include at least one or two ballads this time on the new album, those are always some of my favorite Riverside tracks.

Yeah I agree, Riversides ballads aren't as cheesy as the standard ballad. Love conceiving you. They were supposed to be changing their direction for the new album, can't wait to hear it.
|
| |
I actually feel that their ballads fall a bit in to cheese because they emphasize the lyrics, which are kind of lacking.

Just because I kiss the bands ass? -_-. Nah it's more like ties' fav album. I thought you checked it out and commented but alas.

That was the aim to lure you in. I checked one of them and it didn't sit well with me, can't remember which one.
