I pos'd because this was well written. However, the rating is wrong, wrong, WRONG.

What do you mean, a 5?! Have you noticed the huge clump of filler in the middle, from "Frances Farmer" right up to "Tourette's"? No, for me this is BY FAR the weakest Nirvana album, and when I finally got it (after months of anticipation), it ranked as a gigantic disappointment.

It has its moments ("Rape Me", "Tourette's", "All Apologies"), but in the end there is far too much filler to make it anything more than average.

And now you've inspired me to review it...

All right, F me. I do not like In Utero, and it should not be spoken of in the same breath as Nevermind. Let alone compared to it favourably.

I understand your point of view, but for me personally, those tracks are some of my personal favorites. Radio Friendly Unit Shifter, Milk It, Dumb, Very Ape, and Pennyroyal Tea are all fantastic in my opinion.

I look forward to checking out your review.

Nice review.

When I first heard 'In Utero' back in 93' I thought WTF?

A few months later it became my favourite Nirvana album. It just seems like a celebration of a band doing what they want to do. I love 'Nevermind' but this follow up is very special, equally abrasive & sensitive. I can imagine Kurt grinning wildly when the Geffen execs got to listen to the record for the first time.

Also I think the 'Nevermind' tracks had a renewed vigour on the (sadly final) 'In Utero' tour.

We are all entitled to our own opinions. I absolutely love Nevermind but this album just clicked with me alot more on a personal level. Nevermind doesn't have the same level of relatability that this does.

I might possibly review Nevermind soon.
