It just sounded so horrid to me that I ended up finding it hard to enjoy other records that err too close to it but I already said that.
It doesn't help that to avoid it I have to be ungodly levels of selective with my newer metalcore or avoid the genre as a whole. it's not about a whole genre because there's plenty of metalcore that doesn't fall privy to the same shit... it's just 10+ years old most of the time.

No shit. It gets old after a while, but the inverse is just as hard to stomach for me - trying to fit as many notes in as possible to flex about how much of a virtuoso you supposedly are.

basically too much of the same shit over and over gets old quick (why i gave the first album a 2, wasn't unlistenable but it got annoying pretty fast after a while) and this just adds a level of obnoxiousness to it that makes it even worse. 40 minutes of the same shit that I kinda don't mind > 40 minutes of something I hated from the get go
