god, Dashboard just blows.
Ill take records that make me contemplate suicide solely because of how horrendous their lyrical content is ftw

this album was raw & beautiful. chris will probably go down in my book as one of the most talented/creative acoustic guitar players ever. kind of nostalgic for me too, i used to think about a girl that wouldn't have remotely entertained the thought of dating me while in college listening to this album. she's now my wife. i usually don't outwardly state that i wish that a band wouldn't have changed their style because i understand the need to change as a musician, but i miss this quality of emotional acoustic music, i wish he didn't change. this album really got me more creative on acoustic guitar as well...

I love everything about this album. it's a great go-to album if you feel down. that sounds really cliche, but chris definitely wasnt at his emotional best when writing this. it's really easy to relate to, and i agree with the review. it took balls to record this.

I do love DC. >> May sound lame but sometimes this album brings me to tears. Quite a bit of emotion going on within it. Sure I see it as a sulk arround after a big break up Cd but its still good. Everyone should have DC in their music list for those sort of days.
Great review BTW.

This is one of those album that I want to write a review for just so I can talk about how fantastic it is without showing up commenting back to back on a certain thread.

Having departed his original band Further Seems Forever, Chris Carrabba becomes fully devoted to Dashboard Confessional on 2nd LP 'The Places You Have Come To Fear The Most'. While a backing band exists here & gives some much-welcome variety, they very much stay in the background, meaning this is still Carrabba's show. Despite the intended teen audience & the constant theme of heartbreak remaining, the observational lyrics have thankfully continued to improve. At 30 minutes in length, this is an exceptionally tight album of deceptively catchy pop-rock tunes. Recommended Tracks: Again I Go Unnoticed, This Bitter Pill, The Brilliant Dance & Saints and Sailors.
