This is better than Ampere's Like Shadows in every way. That album was hyped as fuck and there was absolutely nothing special about it.

Understandable. And who doesn't love someone that loves Orchid? They hold a special place in my heart. The Cat Turned to Smoke was the song I was listening to when I discovered Lilo, my dwarf hamster, had died in the middle of the night. Needless to say, that song has special meaning to me now.

I love the album, it's so desperate sounding.

this album's success stems from its unbridled aggression. they seem to deserve the emo-violence tag more than most bands who get called that. and it's not even that they have the pv sound either, but it's pummeling in the way good hardcore music in general should be.

the appeal of that sound in general is how mathy and wild it is but then cuts out before you realize what hit you

which is why people compare them to ampere, but they don't really sound the same at all.
