Boney, if you're having a hard time getting into this you might like Muzai Moratorium more. It's her simplest album. More rock leanings. You might even like her other band Tokyo Jihen more. Jazz rock.
I think the intro track to Muzai, Tadashii Machi (The Right Town), is a good introduction to Shiina in general. This album also contains one of her most famous songs, Marunouchi Sadistic, which received many renditions live and also on her album Sanmon Gossip.
