Righto Spirit, but isn't that more-or-less a matter of opinion. Obviously this album didn't make an impression on you, but giving that I enjoyed the album and found it catchy/memorable/whatever wouldn't that allow for me to have my own opinion and match that opinion with a review? I do understand "to each their own" but it kinda works both ways yeah?

Average is average, whether it impresses you or not is another story.
|
| |
this band is generic
|

Sounds like a horse with blinders on, it's only going one direction with a sense of tunnel vision. Then wouldn't 'average' be a matter of opinion?
|
| |
What are you even talking about
anyone who listen good death metal knows this is generic horseshit

I'm not going for hostile here Spirit, just discussion.

Further displaying the band’s song writing talents comes the final track “Requiem To The Fallen”. This track is one of the faster songs on Opus Mortis VIII and an excellent end to the album. While the track is already fast paced, there is other features that add to this effect. The tremolo picking combined with double bass drum kick notes and even vocal phasing all add to the faster felt tempo. However, contrast is even shown here. The tracks passages switch from the before mentioned tremolo sections to straight forward pounding riffs and blast beating phrases. Vomitory show the listener that simple can be both effective and interesting.
This doesn't really make a whole lot of sense. How is what's making it fast make it faster? That makes no sense.

um, thanks......ApplicationTo.
Ah, Spirit, do you know what a double time feel is? It refers to tempo changes within sections of music.
|
| |
felt faster the tempo, however contrast even shown here
|
| |
But these things aren't adding to how fast it is, it's why it's fast in the first place. Makes no sense.
|
| |
That specifically refers to the 16th notes from the drums bass pedals combined with the effects of the guitars 32nd notes from the tremelo picking. While the tempo doesn't really change for some instruments, some (this case being the guitar and drums) instruments do have a double time effect on their music. This gives in most music a faster than it actually is tempo.

| |
not really relevant in a review though is it?
|
| |
It is when it's mentioned, using a track to back up a point, adding detail about the track and reinforcing the original point.
