Album rules. Definitely 2nd best for them. Can't imagine how good they would be if Garrison and Alan stuck around.

Just imagine the progression that they would have had. They went from Impulse to Augment which was in the same vein but definitely showed growth. If they could improve even further on that Augment sound... whew.

It hurts to think about it too much.

Hmm this is quite an outrageous comparison but I feel like there's some parallel's between Shadow of Intent and Erra within this topic. SoI's Primordial is to Erra's Impulse as SoI's Reclaimer is to Erra's Augment. Only now SoI were able to complete their trilogy of behemoth records with Melancholy where as Erra fell short and was not successful in achieving their trilogy of perfection as SoI has now achieved.

Never listened to Shadow of Intent. Where would I start with those guys?

They're like a death metal/deathcore/whatever stupid tag you want to put on it kinda band, right?

Erra does have a trilogy of perfection tho if you start at Andromeda and end at Augment.

I always thought the bands had some parallel's but they are not very similar in terms of the music at all really, I just had this thought for a while.

hmm, in terms of Andromeda EP, I can't really argue with that tbh, that EP is SO FUCKING SOLID, jeez

Drift and Neon are good, solid albums. Augment is a whole different beast. Garrison was just a monster with his hardcore yells and super beefy growls.

Drift is good but Neon's production let's it down, it's their weakest album

Its guitar tone on Neon I dont like I think, it sounds kinda... twangy... hard to describe, but it make the album sound less clear to me
