Listening to this album again, it really reminded me about how great RATM really was. This album still remains to be the best album of the 90s.

dude, the "supossed" Maynard James Keenean vocals are in the bridge, maynard is the one singing in the bridge, zack couldnt hold a note out that well if he wanted to

/TO THE MATRIX: I have no idea why they'd break up. They were awesome, must've been for the usual reasons. (ie: disagreements between one another; a dislike of ideas)

It must've had something to do with De La Rocha, since the remaining 3 are still together (Audio Slave).

Oh, and about the review: Great review, and this is an awesome album. This is my personal favorite of RATM, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, Rocha pusts imense power into his lyrics and Morello's effects are insane. When I listen to the album the blood running through my veins just builds up...oh the power...:thumb:

Brad Wilk stated that he wasnt really sure why De La Rocha left, nor what he is doing now. however Zack did say something about persuing a solo career (he did some with DJ shadow) though the album was never released. i heard rumuors, that he went to fight in some civil war somewhere (but i believed thats bollox)

anyway, i think this album was probably one of the best albums of the 90's and certainlly all their albums were classic but selftitled is the one that everyone should own. im going to go and listen to it now methinksThis Message Edited On 02.07.06

This is an easy 5/5. This came out when I was in like 7th grade and was just starting to get into music. My mom found this cd (with the "parental guidance" sticker) and my NIN CDs and threw them away. Ugh. Needless to say I bought it again. I'm not a rap fan, by any stretch, but I dont know...I really like old Rage. If they couldve reproduced this energy on their last 2 albums, well...I dont know...it would have been really cool.

I got mine in a used CD store so the label had already been torn off. Score on for me!

Now freedom must be fundamental in Johannesburg, or South Central. On tha mic now, someone should tell them to kick in the Township Rebellion.

ratm. weird though that they're so good, i mean the music is all about following simple scales, and the drums r so simple as well. thats the magic of it all(nothing can b said about Zack's singing, the energy, the realness, the passion 10/10) they've(had?)the creative power to make smtg incredibly strong using simple means. WoW

Listening to this is like lightning running through your veins. Utterly untouchable, and still one of the best, most forceful rock albums ever made.
Has it's 15th anniversary this year too.

This is a great album and RATM are one of my fave bands. Tom is such a great guitarist. Tim doesnt play slap, only uses his fingers.

5/5 For sure, absolute classic. Zack's screaming political poet, Tom's innovite guitar style and brilliant solos and Tim & Brads tight drum & bass connection.
