I've always loved the drum work from this band.

"Ok...a bit of an unexpected update. As reported,"Kentucky" my concept album about my beloved home state, is finished and mastered by Colin Marston, due out on HMB/PAGAN FLAMES this spring. But after much thought, The labels have suggested and I have agreed, that Mr. Marston will remix, edit and master the album with his own influence, skill and vision....the result, I believe will be the very best record I have ever released. Combining epic, emotional melodic and VERY FAST black metal with traditional bluegrass union songs and old style country /folk. This album is dear to my heart and completely inspired by the land scape of Kentucky, a place that no matter where I am is on my mind."
Interesting.

Fuck that, Colin Marston is the man and this will fucking rule.

thats not the point, i would never, ever let someone else have complete control over what MY finished product sounded like. why he would do this is beyond me other than label pressure, and from the looks of it that's exactly what it is

Or maybe he really respects and trusts the guy.

I'm sure that's part of it, but there's plenty of labels that would put this out his way. I'm sure if he's relinquishing this much control over the final product, he has faith that it's for the best outcome.

i guess, i just cant imagine doing that myself
hope its better than this though

How could this be label pressure when he has complete control over all his work anyways (he also owns and runs his own label so why would he hand over his work if he didn`t trust them to begin with)? I think it's a good idea seeing as the guy has stretched his ideas as far as they can go. Colin Marston has a track record with several highly creative bands. Getting a fresh perspective might be good for Lundr.

There's a lot of potential, especially as dense as the music is.

I haven't even heard this but I'm intrigued by the bluegrass and folk elements he has talked about in his next release. They were the best aspects of his best album so far, Collapse.

Ahh I missed that. Either way, I still think the label would have full confidence in him seeing as he came out of nowhere and is a total D.I.Y. kind of musician.

If the label actually tried to control him he'd probably tell them to fuck off and then throw Molotov cocktails at their office.

decidedly not a huge fan of this

Agreed. Saw him post that blurb on Facebook earlier and was like wtf. Still looking forward to it though because the songs where he's incorporated that bluegrass/folk sound are his best ones.
