"Babalon A.D." was first introduced to me on either Scuzz or Kerrang! TV; All I remember is the "Salo: 120 Days of Sodom" video.

I don't even live in the UK; it was on a Youtube rip of the video. I live in Canada. (remember those from like MTV2 Headbangers Ball and such, if you know what I mean?)

Hell yeah bro I used to stay up late and watch all that shit when I was first getting into metal. Fuck I wish I could go back to those days.

Same here! I even downloaded the vids through LimeWire hahaha! They were always from these shows, or a German metal channel.

This era of CoF (which, I'm assuming you mean This - Thorno? Maybe Godspeed?) is hard underrated (in a way, considering it was also like... their commercial peak) but this album is mediocre. "Mannequin" slaps though.

IDK man with your finger on the skip button this album is honestly like 4.0 territory when you skip the bloat.

[2] art, love it too. I never get the hate/dislike this gets. Don't skip anything here actually

The length doesn't bother me, it's supposed to be grandiose. Most of the time I just skip the interludes anyway. The only criticism you can level at this is the muddy guitar tone, but even that you get used to cause the riffs rule.

Yeah, the guitar tone doesn't bother me at all. Plus I loooove the interludes, they're among the best they have ever done imo.

that guitar tone just makes the riffs feel chunky and evil. The verse riff on Babalon AD for example.

If you listen to Midian or one of their newer ones, the disparity in tone is very apparent. I don't think it sounds all that good especially since this is their highest budget release ever. That said, this album slays, and you'd think there'd be a ton of filler cause of how long it is but tbh every song on this stands out.

Uuggh just how good is The Smoke Of Her Burning? That riff, the screams, etc. How it transitions into that evil outro...
