Not only is it a huge step down from Midian, but it's too "American" sounding; too many chugs and too many pseudo-thrash/crossover riffs. Paul Allender is a pretty bad guitarist on his own. He has his moments, but overall he's weak.

I think the first half of Nymphetamine (up until the title track) is really excellent and more of a throwback to their classic style (except "Guilded Cunt", which rules regardless), but the second half suffers from the same exact things I don't like about the majority of this album.

2nd half of Nymphetamine is like really weak mid era Dimmu meets killswitch engage. They were really trying to play to an audience.

Yep. There's some of their best songs here, but the whole thing is tiring.

I bought this CD at least 10 years ago. I'll need to revisit, if just for a few standout tracks. Nymphetamine better for sure.

Yeah I bought this around 10 years ago too. I have all of their albums up to Thornography, I'm gonna have to buy Godspeed and Hammer too. The other 2 I have no desire to own lol.
