Agaetis and Takk bored me to tears. Didn't get the hype around them at all. I thought Jonsi's voice was really whiny and pitchy. Then I listened to ( ) and it blew me away instantly, the vocals are a lot smoother. so don't write them off based on a couple of albums, they're all different. Takk and agaetis are the only ones with pitchy vocals.

Agaetis I find a bit overly twee but Takk's a beast.
The melodies on Everything All the Time remind me so much of the end of one of the tunes on () but I can't remember which. First four songs on that album are perfection.

post rock without any twinkly guitar lines. Amazing atmosphere.

It's got a bit of an edge to it but it's moving and beautiful throughout the whole thing.

Malachite is such a masterful opener

Malachite is one of the only songs I like on this
|

Yes Malachite is good, but there also some other good tunes on the album (and I don't want to be a reductionist here) that only really click with the volume right up. eg, Oran Mor, Safety in Numbers, and Pneumonic.

pneumonic hits me so hard every time especially when played loud, such a heavy track
