Ultima Thee really needs a review.

123 best blut aus nord album by far

Not a chance, Odinist is tighter than a really tight snatch.

Am I the only one who was looking at a 3.75-4.25 on first listen?

Why? I think it's a pretty cut and dry album. Doesn't really present anything new with each listen.

Sometimes albums work best like this and it works in Blut Aus Nord's case.

Haven't heard any of their previous albums , but i like this one. A 2.5 seems like a low rating for this. (although i must say i dont listen to a lot of black metal).

The first sentence in this review is the type of sweeping generalization that immediately sets me at a distance from the author. I happen to like the emphasis on atmosphere in a lot of black metal these days. Can you share some other examples of albums where the music suffers at the hands of atmosphere?
I see what you're saying, though. I'm not a big fan of this album either (nothing in their catalog really touches MVII for me).

The discogs of Cradle of Filth, Dimmu Borgir, Orphaned Land (not black metal but it still suffers from the same thing), and nearly all modern Norwegian bm bands and most American bm bands.

I don't think the first sentence is a generalization because 9/10 times with black metal nowadays the music suffers at the hands of a contrived atmosphere.
