Yeah, if bloc is giving this a 3 I'm not going anywhere near it cuz it's probs like a 2.

It's perhaps just me, but I found their self-titled exponentially more boring than this.

Don't be insulted I consider you to be Sputnik's animals as Leaders authority.

@Atomic:

Fair enough. You make very interesting points regarding the band's new direction, so it is alright. Here is hoping someone will offer a brighter perspective on the album, I am too lazy these these to write reviews.

Sounds more interesting than the debut but not as immediately enthralling. At least the distorted guitar tone isn't completely god-awful this time around.

dissapointing is an understatement. too much 8 bit bullshit, not enough catchy riffs.

I like the opening track and "Isolated Incidents," but a lot of this album is kinda forgettable... I'm thinking a 3 or 3.5

First listen was kinda meh. Turned out to grow though. Album is like 3.8/5 so it will be a 4. Really digging the jazzy 'theme' in Earth Departure. Solid, but hard to choose a standout track.

"An Infinite Regression" and "Odessa" are a solid one-two punch.

Good review, though.

^ this. album bored me for a long time before i came around to it. much more complex in nature and has

a lot of hidden catchiness that rears its head after multiple listens. all in all, i am enjoying this

much more than their debut, even if it didnt floor me the way it the debut did.

There are songs I listen to on this that I could easily see fitting on the debut.

i feel that if you liked the debut, this might disappoint a bit, but in no way should be considered bad or a no-buy.

I think this is a great album. Not to mention it sounds a million times better than the debut album.

Disagree with review at points, but points were well expressed. Not as good as the first, no, but this feels more like an experiment by Tosin Abasi than an album by Animals As Leaders. Nonetheless, I enjoyed it a lot and will be picking it up right after I get my copy of The Hunter.
