the production alone gives this an edge for me
do you have the version of EIF where the cymbals sound all washy, because there are downloads/versions out there which don't have that...

The album title sounds like some mock name for a Pensioners Club. Just saying.
The album is actually pretty good, and I usually don't listen to this kind of sprawling-sounding stuff (Ulcerate, Immolation, Neurosis etc. - mistake, I know, dont bash me). Definitely will give this a few torough listens.

Glad I could stir up some conversation about what atmospheric dm really means.
I think a 3/3.5 would've been sufficient for this.
When something pops out of the genre this much in terms of sounding unique, it automatically gets a 4-4.5 from me for trying something new.
Ulcerate is way better
I don't think this is a fair comparison. Yes these guys do have some Ulcerate to them but then they just go off and do their own thing for the most part. I feel these guys and Ulcerate have more in come with Gorguts than they do with each other tbqh.
And one more thing, I don't expect people to agree with my rating just yet. It happens to fall into my sweet spot and I've had this album for quite some time now.

You should listen to Owl's self-titled album then, Karl.

I feel like there is definitely a specific vibe that is attached to what atmospheric death metal is. Of course dm has atmosphere but this has atmosphere if you know what I mean. Great read dude, definitely check this out.

I agree that comparing this and Ulcerate is unfair. yeah this has that Streetcleaner atmosphere that I love.

BTW; that's a good opportunity to mention Gaza and Black Sheep Wall.

ok, then I won't mention GAZA and BLACK SHEEP WALL
I think that some of this album's audience might enjoy them.
Not all, but at least a few. It's always good to stumble upon something that's similar to things You enjoy, and a tad bir different, because it's safe, yet You can explore new stuff.

I don't enjoy this because it's safe what are you talking about. and those bands don't sound like this.

It's a "safe bet" that You might like something a bit similar in structure and feel, BUT different sounding. As in - it is a safe choice if You were to go in not knowing what these are, but are open enough to different things that may be somewhat similar (thus hooking you in), but sufficiently different so that You don;t feel like You're having a Deja Vu.
That's what I meant. This album is not 'stylistically safe' - far from it.
Sorry, if You took it the wrong way.
I'm always glad to stumble upon good stuff, by a chance. That's all.
