It really is.

Entire album is infectious as hell, i've been bitten by the Waits bug once more.

This is definitely the album I'll be giving people to introduce them to Waits, maybe Heartattack and Vine.

I remember the first time I hear Heart Attack and I nearly shit myself it sounded so awesome.

Then again I was going through a nasty divorce/child custody, getting into bar fights, meeting strange women in strange places, and wondering what the fuck I was doing in the place I was in.

Then I heard Heart Attack and Vine a long with everything else up until that point in time, and I had a soundtrack. When Mule Variations came out a month later it just sealed the deal. Suddenly my misery seemed valid and all of the stupid decisions I made seemed worth something since I was still standing on two feet.

Wow...so profound.

So anyway. I made an ass out of myself. Heard Tom Waits. Liked it a lot.

I always thought closing time would be his best starting work. Cause it's got that dark barroom far from home feel but it has much more playful melodies, catchier lyrics and his voice is quite "normal"

i don't understand why this has completely flown under the radar on this site. it's tom waits!!! and it's a really great album, and actually NOT just 'another tom waits album' which people seem to be dismissing it as. hell broke luce is like nothing he's done before, and every track is unique when compared with the rest of the album.
people @ this site seem to be like..."hmm let's have a look at a new album today...ah what's this one...tom wa- OMG NEW POST-HARDCORE ALBUM IS OUT AOTY AOTY" that's all this site loves. post-fucking-harddick and unimportant self-important indie pop acts.

that's a severe overreaction but it's frustrating when great albums fly under the radar like this and are quickly forgotten, while average albums seem to hang around and make it to end of year lists. though i guess tom waits is an under the radar kind of guy. i'm not mad any more
