Some enjoyable parts here, but some of it is boring as hell.

Its a shame the best song here is encounter considering I already knew it.

I was going to give this a 1.5. I'll give half a point for effort.

That's very considerate of you considering how hastily put together this record sounds.

Or how boring, uninspired, redundant, and unoriginal it is?

You must not have heard the opening track, where we are told to "face the fucking avalanche." How is that not exciting, inspired, fresh, and original?

I faced the avalanche. It was a mere snowball.

It immediately reminded me of the only line I remember from August Burns Red's new release: "fight the avalanche, you'll be buried every time."

Most metaphors made by terrible lyricists are pretty poorly constructed and unoriginal.

It' just not particularly good or great. This sounds more like a Rise release to be honest, and they definitively fall on the less-than-awesome side of Sumerian.

In other words, they are nowhere near The Faceless, Dead Letter Circus, Circle of Contempt, BOO, ATB, Stray From the Path, and Periphery. Fellsilent's album The Hidden Words is much better than this, and that album was released years ago. This kind of cemented them on the Asking Alexandria, STYG, Veil of Maya side of the spectrum where all they are focused on is writing breakdowns at the expense of the overall product.

Yeah obviously it has some good songs and some great sequences, and it sucks to say this but this album is REALLY disappointing. I'll just listen to the EP.

this would probably be at least a 3 if the production didn't suck. and no Pharaoh there is nothing
wrong with my rip or speakers. I think there's something wrong with your ears if you can't hear how
loud and compressed it is.

my only problem with this album is that hydroplaning blows everything else so far out of the water
