Same here. It’s hard to pick a favourite game (or soundtrack). Shadow of the Colossus, Zone of the Enders and Last of Us also stand tall as amazing games (and soundtracks), but Silent Hill 2 is the one.

4s definitely. Lot more diverse and I love Mary mcglynns voice. 1 is really solid and has probably the most terrifying song in My Heaven. 3 is really good too but maybe my least favorite of the 4. Origins is solid but then it goes downhill for me after that

Book of Memories was fine, but little more than a generic horror dungeon crawler compared to the immense atmosphere and heart of SH2.
I liked it, it’s just nothing stellar.

couldn't disagree more. people really need to check the origins and SH4 osts they are incredibly good, there is no dip in quality in Akira's work. as far as the games go, 1-4 are all 10/10 and each are their own unique beast

3 is by far the best in terms of playability and visuals. Can't fuck with 2's plot, though. That's pretty much untouchable. The OST is brilliant, but imo ever-so-slightly overrated.
