Yep, still their best, when I'm in old school mood. When I want modern stuff it's Vector.

Mh, that only true for a couple of tracks though. It's a bit too one note for its runtime

Easily my least favorite Haken, and easily the least memorable as well. I’ve tried to get into this one several times and I can’t remember a single thing that happens tbh

Hopefully it wasn’t just because of me, lol

Nah, you just reminded me of how much this band grew off me in general
This used to be my favorite of theirs, but suddenly (probably because I listen to a lot of stuff that's just better) I don't care for their music anymore, with sime very few exceptions

fair enough...your musical experience grew, that's good,
but you grew it on their shoulder, partially.
Just for that their music care. imo.

Good stuff in this LP.
Not my cup of tea.

For me, Aquarius and Virus are where it's at for these guys. I don't really listen to their other albums much anymore, and they've been gradually getting worse and worse over time for me

Aquarius, Mountain and Affinity are all killer no filler. Different approaches, smart, distinct ideas, atmosphere. Great albums. Visions and Vector/Virus are fun, but don't quite bend the envelope.

Mountain is gud, but also quite boring idk

Mountain's fine, but I always tune out about halfway through due to lack of interest/engagement (which is a problem I have with most Haken albums these days)

Lack of engagement on Mountain? Weird, I think it's brilliant on the pacing side

Coming back to Haken
While I like many vocal melodies here, the instrumentation is very samey, lacking flavour, the instrumental sections are too long and overall this isn't really engaging. It's probably a necessary step into the right direction, with a more logical songwriting, but the interesting ideas got lost along the way. Feels like a transitional album to me, with all its faults and very few positive sides

I feel the engagement with The Mountain too. Like, after Falling Back To Earth it loses sime steam. I guess you could fix it by cutting out Pareidolia

Redicovering my love for this one
Their first two albums are their most human imo, because of the rawer production, so that's a plus

Shapeshifter, The Mind's Eye and Deathless are so cool.
