Awful review. So we go from a 5 star joke review to a 1 star, slightly less entertaining version. lol @ the lyrics making absolutely no sense. Perhaps this is a bit 2deep4u.

This is a great review btw. Listening to this for the first time now....and honestly I like it. Then again I've loved Lou Reed and the Velvet Underground since I was twelve and my appreciation for Metallica's decade of sheer brilliance that was the 80s has always been there, so it stands to reason that I would actually enjoy hearing Lou Reed's old beatnik raspy voice rapping like a beat poet set to Metallica's impeccable metal instrumentalization.
This is actually sounding pretty good upon my first listen. Yes, the line "I am the table!" is gut-bustingly hilarious because of the fact that Lou and Metallica are in fact serious when they say that, and are not in on "the joke", but apart from that stumble lyrically, I'm quite liking the rest of this album so far. I'm only halfway through but I've enjoyed it so far, way better than the awful ratings people are giving it. The key is to think of it as a LOU REED album and not a Metallica album, because that's what it is. It's a Lou Reed album with Metallica as the backing band. Literally. So if you're expecting Metallica's artistry, it's not to be found here. This is a Lou Reed record through and through down to the lyrics, the tone, the production, everything.
