The thing to note is there is something for every blink fan on this album, and even critics too. Saying after midnight is trite is absurd in almost every fashion. All in all, i still find it to be a very logistical, strong progress for them. Snake charmer, kaleidoscope, after midnight, natives, and even up all night are all stand-out tracks on this album.

"Tom Delonge annoys the fucking hell out of me and each blink 182 after Enema becomes more and more of the Tom show. I want new +44 god dammit."

This album was above my expectations, and after giving it some listens, it really sunk in deep with me. I can understand why this isn't a popular CD with many, but I have always had simplicity and subtleness in high regard.

Also, there are other "punk" (if you want to call them punk still) trios that are better in hindsight.

@jayfatha While it may be regarded as bias I think for what it is, it is in fact a five. The regression some have spoken of is in my opinion misplaced expectations and some kind of preconceived opinion of what this band is, based of the progression that was made up to the self titled album. As I mentioned, this new album just sat perfectly with me after a while, and when dealing with ratings and reviews, it is the subjective opinion that is of interest rather than trying to objectively point out flaws. I realize this probably didn't answer your question, but I shunned writing a review as I'm not good with pinpointing what appeals to me.

If your a blink fan and dont wanna listen to this because you read this review and dont want your youth nostalgia to be ruined your a fucking idiot.

Like the guy with the first comment .. rofl

Anyway good review, but ill always have love towards blink.

In my honest opinion i like this more than self titled, but in no way can it compare to what i like to call the PROPER blink albums (enema, dude ranch, pants and jacket).

This shit is good

"This isn't a Blink 182 album as I understood the term"

Well there's your first mistake. Take it as an album on its own and don't compare it to albums they made in their early 20's

This seemed to read like a score lower than a 2.5 (average)... Very well-written and a fun read though.
