tbh I don't really think they pull off the harsher early sound particularly better than the more accessible one. I consider them a great band but I don't have a particular album that I completely love. Blood Mountain is usually the one I call the favorite but I rarely jam it except my favorite highlights.

EoS and OMRtS are both pretty rad. They've been cushioned by the blow that Hunter had to take, though... So it may be a question of perspective.

Listen again with an open mind dude. Roots Remain, Ancient Kingdom, Clandestiny, Sultan’s Curse, Steambreather— chock full of great songs. Only outlier is Show Yourself, which is merely ok.

I dont think i couldve had a more open mind man, i expected to like it when it first came out, it surprised me that i didnt all that much. I might revisit it one of these days, but it doesnt sound like something i want to do at the moment.

Blow Yourself is godawful, but as a whole I'd definitely sooner revisit EoS rather than this or OMATS. It has the greatest potential for growth out of the three and maybe I didn't dedicate enough time to it in the first instance.
