Excellent Review. I like your points of critique on 'Somewhere...' being a bit over the top and forced at times but I feel that's the reason I love it so much. Album is awesome.

"the musicians are really the ones holding this band together"

disagree with this, they're writing better music on this album, but the fact the band released the lyrics to read alongside the stream, seems to me as the focus is soley on Dreyer this time. On this album, the music seems to mirror and serve as a backdrop for the lyrics, much in the way they do it on the 'Here Hear' records. I don't come away from this album thinking about the rest of the band at all, the stories and messages within the lyrics is what seems to be the focus.

even if that potential was squandered at every turn by a vocalist who had a hard time shutting the fuck up and letting the band do what they do best.

Fucking this.

'a Poem' through to 'a Broken Jar' is a pretty fantastic string of songs but the rest is a little bit boring.

I feel like King Park would be my soty if there was just...less lyrics...

It seems like Jordan just gave too many details in that song and spelled everything out perfectly, it just makes it kind of corny, to me anyways. I wish he left some more to the imagination.

Regardless, song still fucking rules, as does the rest of the album.
