Stumbled upon a great cover of Territory https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWVsJYfDGC8.

Then I listened to the album. Time has not been good to this, production-wise.

yeah this honestly was probably one of my first 5 actual metal albums, up with old Metallica and Meshuggah. but anyways I listened the shit out of this in high school then I went probably 7 or 8 years w/o listening to it

Been like that with quite a few bands throughout high school, especially in freshman year (albeit most for good reasons).

"I don't care if they abandoned thrash here I love this album"

that seems to be the only reason for disliking this album for people who don't rate it well tbh

I'll be one to say that I'm a fan of many "transition" albums of the 90's , and this was arguably the best among them imo.

I know that record too. The solos are better on that album for sure, but I'm not sure which one is better. There's a reason why I say "arguably."

riffs are better, vocals are better, song structures aren't ridiculously simplistic etc

Drumming and lyrical themes here are better imo. Like I said, my opinion. There both 4's to me.
