The mix as a whole is better on ReEv I believe.

Yeah I heard a couple of songs and the mix is definitely more balanced.

"DeEvolution is the best progressive metal album of 2011"

Dude spelled Bilateral incorrectly

I actually give DeEv a SLIGHT edge over Bilateral. (Just barely though) Both albums are top 5 (5's) for me.

.........

I heard De and it hasn't struck me as anything too special yet, I like a lot of the atmosphere and the production is great but the songwriting is pretty linear

spag can answer that. The guitar melodies and riffs are very chunky and great but its like thats the

only style he can compose.

Ahh well I'd recommend ReEv too, you'd actually probably like it more than this. My only problem with ReEv is that Divine Night could have gone a lot farther than it did.

I heard Releas the deity on the bands fb page and the atmosphere was great. Its really hard to believe

that these guys were a very technical oriented band before, they hardly bring that here (with the

exception of some annoying bits on divided day), its quite the

opposite, but thats a good thing. I have both albums so will check

I'm digging the atmosphere quite a bit. A few different clean guitar tones would have been welcomed

though

I AM YOUR MAKER *shred madness*

3.5? Sweet, have you tried ReEv yet? The last 5 tracks on it are pretty much perfect. ESPECIALLY The Grand Facade.

I expected more fireworks because of the 3.5 :P. I'm still listening to DeEv, I want this to be a 4 atleast. Will check ReEv after, heard Release teh Deity like 10 times, teh first 4 minutes are terrific, and I rellay enjoyed the riff after but the song doesn't really go anywhere and its surprising its 13 odd minutes. Then again I'm happy it isn't a shredfest a la modern DT.

Though the stupid stupid wankery on "divided day" pisses the fuck out of me

Production is great minus the bass, the guitar is very chunky and I love it.

Nah I figured this would be somewhere between a 3.5 - 4 for you possibly lol. I would give every one of their tracks at least a 4/5 honestly. I absolutely love The Tipton twins and their work.

Erik is such an awesome vocalist, despite not being really known. I think his vocals are a bit better on ReEv as same as the atmosphere. But I love the more wanky side of DeEv. Yes, Divided Day is actually my favorite song from them. (blasting + shred + rad chorus / solo / calm outro) The bass is my favorite thing about the band period. :D

ReEvs artwork is identical to the human centipedes dude wtf

Damn you're passionate about the cynthesis. Thats good dude if you enjoy them, they definitely have

elements which I really enjoyed, the atmospheres are great, even if they're very similar.

The bass playings good but its the tone that annoys me at times on DeEv and also the mixing, and that

ruins a it a bit for me. The vocals are alright, haven't really hit me as anything very special. Guess

I need to digest it a bit more

Ahh sweet, The Human.... Cynthesispede.... yeah. That's it.

Glad you enjoy this though. But as I will say once again you may like ReEv a tad more.

Oh and their old band was Zero Hour, not sure if you've heard of them. They did awesome shit in ZH too.

Haha :D. That movie was fucked up, and I don't even want to think about watching the fucking sequel.

Yeah I read a bit about Zero Hour and how they focused more on technical complexity (haven't heard anything yet though), thats why i was surprised by this album, it has a lot more atmosphere than I was expecting.

Yeah, Jasun said he wanted to something a bit more atmospheric with Cynthesis, something completely different than they had done with Zero Hour. The problem with Cynthesis was, his brother Troy wasn't involved in any of the songwriting for the project due to his arm injury / surgery / recovery he was going through.

This pretty much explains it all. I believe the songwriting would've been stronger had Troy been involved.
