Ever heard Deliverance?

That one with the long song with no growls and the soft instrumental track? Crushes pretty hard.

Nice review.. really concise and well worded. I really like this album. It's got an atmosphere to it that I can't really put my finger on which is always a good thing. The sporadic transitions only add to that atmosphere for me. Like the moment in "I Feel the Dark" that you mentioned negatively in your review where the organ (I think) comes in after the whisper... I feel that's actually a really powerful moment. It's really menacing and shocks you out of where you thought the song was going. Personally I love moments like because it makes music unpredictable (of course there's a limit to how many times you can do it before it becomes gimmicky).

Also.. why would still life have to be a 12/5 if this is highly rated? They are totally different albums and are good (or bad) for totally different reasons. If you're judging all albums by the exact same criteria you're missing out on what makes albums unique.

...I was referring more to the title track, Wreath, and Master's Apprentices.

Master's Apprentices is one of the worst opeth songs, the main riff is awful

That two or three minutes of silence in the last track is pretty brilliant.

The album's so disjointed and boring that's not even worth checking out. I totally agree with the review.

Album is so average. It lacks a sense of direction.

Only listened to this once so far, really wasn't a big fan of it. Probably a 3 at best when I listen a few more times.
