Pretty enjoyable album as a whole, shows there's still hope for an awesome new release someday.

"I just hope they remix/master I&W before they quit..."
Why the hell should they do such a thing? I&W is perfect.

It could sound a lot better without the wierd drum sound

They seem like the band that would call the new album XIII

That would be a whole new step in the evolution of their inauthenticity

>band was never strong with lyrics
The Rush thread is yonder, across the hills of classic prog.
When Kevin left the lyrics went to shit obvs, but there are a few lyrical moments after Metropolis Pt.2 that are fucking brilliant out of nowhere (Blind Faith, Honor Thy Father, Wither)

Honor Thy Father and Wither lyrically good?
I'd choose octavariam, half of ToT and ministry of lost souls

Misunderstood has some of my all time favorite DT lyrics.
But Wither has some of the shittiest lyrics I've ever head lmao

I believe he said it was something to do with the writing process petrucci has to experience whenever he composes a song.
Close enough

Breaking All Illusions is my favorite song of theirs since Octavarium

Tbh I'm not the biggest fan of that song but it's still great. The Count of Tuscany is my favorite since Octavarium, that song does wonders musically despite the trash lyrics.

I think this is my favorite album of theirs on Roadrunner Records, it's really fun to listen to in places and I actually dig how hard it tries to be Images & Words
