Did you see the statement they released today? I'm inclined to believe it's bullshit until they actually put up, but if it's true I feel for them.

Only a little bit. They did about everything wrong that could have been done wrong.

Yeah, I suspect it's true. These guys didn't spend years practicing their instruments and writing a kickass EP just to sink their careers and make off like bandits with...$35000. Especially when there is at least some kind of trail for how they spent that money.

They may have sucked at communicating what was going on, but communicating (especially with rabid asshats) is hard when you're depressed and overwhelmed, and I've heard rumours that they didn't want to open up about certain bandmembers' serious mental health issues for fear of triggering more serious destructive behaviour.

ya I'm inclined to believe none of them took an income from that indiegogo because it's an extremely small amount of money for a business that returned nothing. I don't think they intended to scam anyone and I'm not surprised if they've just been sitting on a band paypal with money because communication broke down.

They put too much pressure on themselves and tried to pass it off as ego when in reality it's a weight on their shoulders. "We'll release a breathtaking album" is childish to say because no band confident in their vision says shit like that. they were faking it till they made it, never made it, and probably freaked out and that one guy dipped cause he hated himself.

I can see it just cause I've lived through shit like this, and band breakdowns like this. where everyone blows smoke up each others asses for what a great band they are and how much better their songs are than anyone elses while everything ends up fizzling.

If they put the album out, return what's left of the money, that's a start. Next they'll probably run hoodies and shirts with what's left for people who paid for a physical merch. if there's not enough for a small merch run I'd be surprised.

These dudes all fuckin disappeared off the internet. like it was impossible to find any of these guys on social which is so odd. it really is like they just gave up from shame. I'm glad they're owning up to it, but it hasn't been made up for yet.

All that being said. I don't like this band and never did haha. just great tea.

MadMikeLove you're spot on about this, especially the egoism leading to pressure on themselves. I think this whole prog metalcore scene around 2011/2012 was at it's peak of each artist trying to outdo each other with the most mind blowing, technical, pristinely produced music possible. Being caught up in that arms race and then trying to deliver a 'breathtaking' record is more pressure than I could imagine. Not at all excusing their shitty behaviour, but this outcome almost seems like an inevitable outcome from a scene that was so focused on 'jizzworthy' (remember when every youtube comment on these bands referenced ejaculation?) riffs and epic productions vs songwriting. If it wasn't Corelia it would have been some other band.

I'll be honest, if it wasn't enough they should have communicated. Will I listen to the album if they release it? Sure, because good music is good music. But I don't have a lot of respect for them left. I just want to hear full version of this song that played in background their indiegogo video

there's no excuse, I'm just explaining the headspace because I can relate to it. it's toxic and shitty to those around them but I get it. I've been damaged before, but I did self work haha. these guys got a lot to make up for.

genuinely impressive that it took them four years to write a message that essentially states nothing of substance regarding release of actual music. not exactly holding my breath for them to “do what they can” to release “what they have access to”

I like how it took them four years to come out and say they all basically suffered simultaneous mental breakdowns.

They basically went the Kevin Spacey route.

It took some random internet sleuth to get these guys to respond in any capacity--and once they realized it wasn't the person they had been trying to get in contact with, they just said fuck it and played the mental illness card.

I don't disagree with the notion that they didn't use a Kickstarter for the sake of ripping people off; But at some point during this production process, they just said fuck it and quit.

It's fascinating, because these guys legitimately put out one of the best EPs in recent memory for the prog-metal scene; Showcased that they had larger potential than garbo bands like Periphery and Tesseract, only to completely shit the bed and become one of the most hated and detested indie-metal bands of all time.

They deserve to be dragged every time their name is mentioned. Fuck these tools.

the album got released. It's demo quality and pretty much unlistenable. but it's out there. it exists.

I feel bad that this is all they had. supposedly they don't even have the stems anymore cause someone they're not in contact anymore has them (or something? i'm not sure.), so there's no mixing/mastering happening anytime soon. shame. Hopefully they'll release tabs and someone else can rerecord the album for them. they fucked up, if they put this out even 3 years ago and said the campaign got all fucked up and we got members who ditched us with no ability to master this piece of shit, then they could've trucked on. Now we're looking at a dead body.

well either way, this vocalist never had much to offer and sounds annoying so i wouldn't have liked this even if it was completed.

To give them credit, for these being demos they are pretty good for what it is.

Least this is some confirmation that they were working on an album. 16 tracks with the majority 5 minute plus songs

Finally got to hear full version of the song from their indiegogo video. Now only hoping that one day they'll release original files so someone can mix it properly. AI mix is not terrible although this one song is actually better in demo version
