If Jump They Say was on Earthling that would be the 16th best Bowie album hands down

I like alot of your ratings so I guess I can't really say you have bad taste.

lol I actually had to do a legit count because I listened to his entire discography like 4 times over a year ago. I struggled to give it a 2.5 after 4 spins. As far as his 90s stuff goes, Outside and Buddha of Suburbia are where it’s at.

I felt the same way at first, I wrote off the album based on the terrible album cover. Not saying you'll change your mind but I know a lot of people regard that particular record highly.
Can't say the same for Black Tie other than it just being a guilty pleasure of mine.

I don’t think any of the songs on it are downright bad I just don’t really connect with any of them. I do like the harder hitting rock stuff he does, it’s not that it’s all about melody and catchy choruses for me or something like that. I do like 7 Years but even then. I’d say I enjoy my guilty pleasures from this (Jump, Don’t Let Me Down) more than anything on Earthling… but it also feels very wrong to say this album is better than Earthling

Jump is such a great song, I wouldn't feel guilty for liking it
the 90s were a very interesting time for Bowie and you can see flashes of what he'd do on The Next Day and Blackstar in these albums

fair enough. "dead man walking" got me into that album so might want to give that a try if you could give a fk.
Black tie is pretty laid back and not batshit insane like earthling so I guess it's kind of hard to recommend. Then again you say you like Outside which I can't stand so I guess its just different strokes for different jelks.

You can’t stand it? Damn, that’s harsh. What do you hate about it?
And yeah, Tuna, agreed. He has some great stuff from the 90s and I feel like Buddha of Suburbia is particularly overlooked. The title track, Strangers, Dead Against It, and Untitled 1 are all stellar

Really can't get behind the spoken word character interlude wankery as well as "hearts filthy lesson" and "hallo spaceboy".
Saying I can't stand is probably going a bit too far, I actually like alot of the album it's just listening to it as a whole is never something I really want to do.
"Strangers when we meet", "oxford town", "im deranged", "the motel" all great tracks.

might need to relisten and reevaluate it myself later tonight in excruciatingly in depth, autistic, fashion.

and by reevaluate it in excruciatingly in depth detail I mean to play cod zombies and zone out with it playing in the background and wish I decided to listen to something good.
but the sad truth of the matter is nothing is good.
nothing.
