"But it's not an opinion, moron. Jesus, are you this dumb? An album/band being essential to a genre is not an opinion. This can't be that hard for you to understand."
This is the dumbest thing i've ever read, musical taste is absolutely a matter of opinion. I don't know who you would put in the list of "essential metalcore" frank, but it stands to reason, that since killswitch engage, unearth and AILD, are considerably more popular than most other metalcore bands, that they would have a higher probability of being enjoyed by a newcomer to the genre. According to the "opinion" of thousands of individuals, they like these bands more than say a band like converge who are considered by many to be a better band. The fact remains that converge are statistically liked by fewer metalcore fans, than killswitch engage. so while you may not like it frank i think putting those bands in a top 10 list of essential metalcore acts is damn logical if not a no brainer.
"Not to forget that essential also means incredibly influential when it comes to a influencing bands within a genre."
This statement is also retarded, especially coming from someone who aparently professes to be some kind of metalcore guru, if you'd listened to much metalcore in.... i dont know, say... the last 8 years, you would probably know that those three bands' style is emulated by thousands of metalcore bands across the globe,
I didn't like killswitch's last 2 albums either, but you've got to give credit where credit is due as far as their influence in the metalcore genre.

Sounds like i finally have someone on the same page as me. Thanks Burnyourface.
This. the last 8 years, you would probably know that those three bands' style is emulated by thousands of metalcore bands across the globe,
drives a lot of my argument.

I really like this album so far, its way ahead of the march, most notably in production quality, and drumming.

Nah haven't checked it out yet. Not really too high on my list of things to listen to right now.

Didn't expect this band to ever get clean vocals... was chocked at first, but they are not dominant over the harsh vocals and fit well.
