Haha. For clarity to those who donโ€™t know (promenade)

I recommend it. Very pleasant, laid back but as always ruined by young students who think theyโ€™re the be all and end all flouncing around allowing the place to go to rack and ruin.

I'm sympathetic to most of those, but Young Americans or Lodger over this is a capital offence. Just glad you didn't have Hunky Dory in there too

Hunky Dory is clearly way better than this but I can agree that Young Americans over this is suspect

lodger is upper echelon bowie i wont have it!

young americans and this are about equal but tbh i'd take the title track there, win, and fame over anything here except maybe "starman"

now that's a take I cannot defend at all. Five Years is vastly better than anything on Young Americans, or almost any other Bowie album honestly

Most of Lodger is unhinged and great, but the other half is vaguely irritating :[ None of that Red Sails bs

Fame is up with Fashion for his most overrated setpiece songs tbh, never understood the appeal of that beyond a 30-60 minute jingle. Kinda boring song

at least Fame has good guitar unlike the awful guitar on the title track here

that's mainly because Earl Slick is a much cooler guitarist than Mick Ronson (whose style is homely and warm etc but never going to make a song unless the writing gives it a very clear push in the right direction)

yeah but itโ€™s also just laboured and sounds straight up out of tune
