i hope "Monday at the Beach" is a precursor to "Vacation II" bc when i asked about that Jeff just left me on read in the dms lmfaooooo

i asked about it jokingly, but it legitimately seems like his next effort is gonna be more of a "summertime" record as his WORRY. and POST- especially have been winter/non-summer albums in my perspective. POST- was like the album for the year without a summer in my eyes, and that's why i love it so much compared to others tbh

Let's just hope it's better than POST-

"WORRY. and POST- especially have been winter/non-summer albums in my perspective"
I agree about post but worry is like a straight up summer jam for me. like almost every song, but essspecially blast damage days thru planet luxury

For me all of his stuff is awesome blistering hit summer/fall stuff. Winter is for electronic music and folk for me.
|

worry is so obviously a fall record imo. it's so fuckin melancholy and downtrodden in substance, while at the same time being musically exuberant (but not overtly bright like vacation).
nice coincidence that it was originally released in fall (or totally intentional, i dunno).

I guess Vacation is a summer album. Like the most depressing summer album ever haha. That's kind of Jeff's schtick I guess.

"worry is so obviously a fall record imo."
I can see that on a couple songs at most, like the opener and maybe hellhole? there's a ska song and another song called June 21st, neither one exactly screams "fall" to me :P

That 3.5 is an abomination.

ButtBoy has POST- rated higher than Vacation, they cannot be reasoned with

ppl who think jeff solo is even comparable to btmi smh

It’s actually bewildering to me ngl. I also think Worry. works best as a celebration of all of Jeff’s past output. Like the styles and songwriting on the album covers all of what came before it. Not that there’s anything wrong with it, but it’s a fan service album through and through.

Ah hello sane people. I actually like We Cool? the most of his solo stuff because I feel it’s the most cohesive, but yeah IMO the solo stuff is clearly a step down from Three Cheers and BTMI’s legendary run.

Given time to settle, I also slightly prefer We Cool? overall, but the Worry. super song run is still better than any particular song on We Cool.

Hmm. Maybe. But I feel like We Cool? houses some BTMI-level songs like Nausea, Weird Cities, The Lows, I'm Serious I'm Sorry. WORRY is a good album but just doesn't do it for me as much as some of his other stuff does. I like Get Warmer more than it:/
