I agree with the rating. Their early stuff is fucking awful (as is Earth2, BTW), but they became good when they started "branching out" and including "progressive elements" into their music (starting with Flight Of The Behemoth).

I disagree. I think all their albums are unique and fantastic in their own way, which is why I love Sunn o))) so much. The Grimmrobe Demos are no different, I think this is their most powerful, droning, heaviest but most relaxing album. The way the instruments sound, the repetition, the menacing hum of the overdrive. I love this album.

They are named after the amps they use, Sunn amps, you dont pronounce the O ) ) ). They were a fairly low cost amp when they were around, but loud as hell. Alot of band that play similar music use them, like Boris, Earth, Growing, and Thrones, at least those are the bands I have seen use them.
