Really? I thought it was mostly just average. Smith's vocals are way past their prime there and he sounds off-pitch a lot of the time and most of the songs just didn't grab me. But Underneath the Stars is legit as fuck which makes up for most of it

Heck yeah Bare is amazing.
4:13 Dream took a while for me to get into, but once I got into it it's held up really well. Underneath the Stars is definitely the best on the album, but I really like the Hungry Ghost, The Perfect Boy, and The Real Snow White. The whole album is really solid for me though; there isn't a bad song on it.

that opener of 4:13 is what dreams are made of. holy shit that song is amazing. this also gets way more heat than it deserves. i think it's just popular opinion to hate this and people listen to it for the first time already expecting it to suck.

Underneath the Stars is honestly one of their best songs but I just don't get 4:13 otherwise. In fairness though I think the s/t is one of their best and really underrated so I understand where you're coming from (seriously s/t is life)

Well, these dudes have become one of my absolute favourite bands recently, after hearing all their albums. I thought they probably would drop off after the 80s like most bands did, but with the exception of 4:13 nothing they've done is even close to being average for me. They just held up so well and ugh.

I swear man, phases come and go but I will always love The Cure. Every few years I get into them all over again and it's always a great experience.

The Promise is fantastic too, so goddamn desolate. And the two bonus tracks Going Nowhere and This Morning are so perfect - if those two had made the album and alt.end had been cut I would probably 5 it
Right now I'd say they're sneaking into my top 10 bands, and I recently 5d Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me and Disintegration. So they're slowly but surely worming their way up there.
