"Pre-streaming services. What did we use? Must have been torrented files + iTunes. Back when a band's discography wasn't on full display and we had to hunt. Ah good times."
They released both Fables and this on iTunes with exclusive bonus tracks (An Honest Conman for Fables and Pour the Coal to 'Er for A&A). It's a shame because both tracks hold up with the albums (an honest conman might be one of their best ever imo)

yooooooo that's wild, I had no idea. I bet when I was torrenting the albums I got those tracks, but in not listening to them for well over a decade, I forgot about them. If I ever listened to them at all. I'm gonna have to hunt these down! Definitely not on Spotify.
Whelp, they're on YouTube. Thank you for telling me about them. I started to play one and paused ten seconds in -- I have two Fair to Midland tracks that I might have never heard before. I'm going to savor the shit out of this. Maybe tonight I'll have a smoke and get settled in the basement with my good headphones and squeeze every drop out of: listening to a 'new' Fair to Midland track for the last time ever.
Yes, I am sentimental about my music/these guys an awful lot

I had the best summer ever 4y ago listening to their albums while playing the Witness game, so I can follow you on the sentimental value. Now both the game and Fair to Midland albums are ingrained in my brain whenever I see the sun lol

Yo Nomos it's not quite the same, but on YouTube there's also an insanely lofi demo of a prospective Darroh solo track from a project that never came to fruition that's beautiful even through (because of??) how ratchet the recording is. Like the melody shines through big time

Ditto man I apply specific mind imagery to a lot of music, usually snapshots and half-memories of where I was in life when I was listening to that music, and creating these vivid anchors to my life from them. Fair to Midland will ALWAYS be: Summer 2011 Xbox 360 arcade games and this album on loop.

thanks porcupine I'll take a look after work!

as much as I'd love to have this on wax, the way this is produced probably sounds like crap on vinyl.

Dang, a few years too late. It would be financially unwise for me to buy vinyl possibly ever again (yay inflation!!!) but a few years ago I would have eaten this right up, especially since the only mail I get on Discogs.com anymore is people trying to sell me that album's old pressing.
