Edit: Inception breakdown is a theory I came up with after watching the movie. I always wanted a way

to describe bands that went from one breakdown into another and it was perfect.

Anyone else notice how eerily similar the intro to Conviction is to the intro to Singularity by Born of Osiris?

I can see the similarity, but it ends when I stop TCA's 10 seconds in. 2 "Move" breakdowns in the first song?

And one of them opens the album?! This can't be serious.

Yeah, this album is fucking garbage.

I can't remember if you said it in your review, or if someone made a comment about it, but this is the epitome of what is wrong with this genre of music.

Great review. 'Inception Breakdown' is priceless. Reminded me of a The Chariot show i went to a few weeks ago. Unfortunately they were supported by My Children My Bride. Their whole set was one big breakdown. F*ckin awful...

"The clean singing added on this album sounds comparable to Miss May I’s whiny, nasally vocals"

Well, Miss May I's clean vocalist is a guest on one of these songs, so go figure

The band’s vocalist had claimed the old album was plagiarism; the band had ripped off old death metal riffs and presented them as their own.

because what they're doing now is SOOO original. they should go back to "ripping off old death metal riffs".

Eh, the old album bored me, it was even more repetitive, just with more guitar wankery. Some of the songs on this album are fairly catchy to me. But then again, I love Emmure and all the bands everyone here hates, so that's why I like it. I don't care if it's unoriginal and full of breakdowns, it's a fun listen, and that's all I really care about.

so i'm guessing they were "convicted" for a Felony?

shocked that no one made a comment like that yet.

Actually it was their harsh vocalist. He's on the MMI "Rust" ripoff.

Very amusing review, Inception Breakdown made me lol. I agree with everything you said, this album is garbage and doesn't deserve to EVER reach a 2 rating. Pos'd.

I actually find Levi Benton to be a very capable and interesting vocalist even though I don't like his band. Their new album killed them for me.
