The album after this is good but SETI is an atrocity. This is by far the best thing they put out. Borderline 5.

Weak ass rating.
This album saved a summer holiday for me in 1999. I was stuck in a house with my family for a week with only this and La Masquerade Infernale on my discman for entertainment.
So instead of being homicidally depressed, I was in a constant euphoric state.

Nice memories, man. I think Anathema - Judgement and Amorphis - Tuonela were the two albums I jammed most during the summer of '99.

There was a Danish metal magazine and album store in Copenhagen called Metalized, I basically went by their descriptions and ratings when buying albums. A dude who worked there was all about symphonic black metal and he was my guide.
Then there was a sticker on the cover: "The first black super group! Including ex-members of Mayhem, Dimmu Borgir, Arcturus and Cradle Of Filth!"
As a fan of all those bands, it was an easy purchase.

Yeah I got into these guys from Dimmu tbh. I heard Anamatronic first though then went to this and got blown away. I watched an interview with Dimmu from like 1997 and it was apparent that Nagash was weird as fuck but God damn he makes good music lol.
