The first giant chunk of words was completely pointless.

As far as youthful energy, I don't think they will top what you got with Thrill Seeker. Because they where younger then...
But there is "youth" in this album - the breakdowns remind me of Poison The Well's "You Come Before You," and Salt & Light's upbeat sing-along reminds me of (a far better) Stretch Armstrong.
40 Nights has some raucous strumming ~20 seconds in. Me likey.

on thrill seeker they werent anything special. just another slightly above average christian metalcore band abusing breakdowns. Theyve im proved as musicians and songwriters with every record. Oddly enough, ive really only seen negative comments about this album on sputnik, every other site/magazine is blowing the shit out of this

i dont see it. Its just a bunch of breakdowns. Barbarian is great and theres one or two good songs besides that but I mean come on, they were nothing compared to what they are now. I love the post-rocky influence on here and the melodic/clean sections are definitely new. They bring more to the table with every album

It does have a 3.8 average score though
Thirty And Seven is still my favourite ABR song

Thrill Seeker is my favorite because I don't expect anything special with it. It just rocks.
Fuck me, I sound like Hans.

really, thirty and seven? hm. Yeah its gone from a 4.3 to a 3.8 really fast though (and the 4.3 was still with a good number of votes). I just love metalcore and Im a sucker for this type of music, I just love it a lot. I do agree maybe some of the metal parts have been the same for a while but I just still love their sound, and I love the post-rock and proggy stuff they added in. This is easily my favorite from them, I understand why people wouldn't find it as energetic as their earlier stuff but in terms of quality and diversity this is better than all their previous work.

Also, Empire(Midi) is sweet. It's like Mario gone hardcore - I feel like I got a coin every time there's a guitar flare.

Yeah, it just clicks more with me
Diversity? Carpe Diem is pretty much the only melodic one. Constellations had more diversity imo

melodic one? Salt and Light fucked around with post rock, carpe diem sounded like isis meets iron maiden, internal cannon had the latin fusion sections, the instrumental one was taken from the book of straightforward post-rock, divisions had bannon-like vocals. More melodic tracks doesnt mean more diverse tracks.

Salt and Light has a small post rock-esque bridge but it was relatively short

I've always loved ABR so maybe I'm just biased. I really enjoyed this album though, and I think the break downs are sweet. Fuck me right?
