Don't worry, I shall salivate considerably over this once I hear it. I'm going to buy a physical copy though.

Great review, pos'd. I do disagree with you on the songs though. I didn't find them even a little bit stale, in fact I think some of their best work is on this album, 40 Nights and the title track absolutely blew me away, just as much if not more so than anything on Constellations.

this album has the same number of stale tracks as constellations did, my biggest problem with this album is that there are some REALLY good passages in certain songs that get dulled by crappy riffs proceeding/following them. Parts in Salt&Light and Empire are just as good as anything in constellations if not better; theres just some filler in a lot of the tracks which brings the overall quality down.
first half poor millionaire has a Composure quality to it

Probably the best review for this album so far. I feel like it reads a bit more like a 3, but oh well. The second half of this is just soo good in my opinion. That might be because I listened to all the songs they released earlier a shit-ton, but I think the first 3 songs are the weakest right now.

listening to this atm for the first time and i disagree that they've stagnated but i will say the heavier sections are definitely reminiscent of constellations and don't have as much impact.

Above average metalcore, as usual. 3.3. Definitely not as good as Constellations. Can't top Meddler and Mariana's Trench

^Meddler might be untoppable.

Ye. I originally had this at a 4.5, now I don't really even listen to it anymore. Constellations was so much better

Them not doing anything different isn't necessarily a downfall here. I always found it silly that people complain about a band not evolving. I mean its one thing to try different things, different approaches and such, but if they enjoy playing this type of music and it works for them I really don't see the problem. That being said, I still prefer Constellations, but I definitely enjoyed this one.
