how is that not an opinion are you retarded

To state that something when heard won't soon be forgotten is not an opinion on the album because you're trying to interpret other people's reactions to it. It's trying to pass something off as fact

In general, an opinion is a subjective belief, and is the result of emotion or interpretation of facts. An opinion may be supported by an argument, although people may draw opposing opinions from the same set of facts. Opinions rarely change without new arguments being presented. However, it can be reasoned that one opinion is better supported by the facts than another by analysing the supporting arguments.[1] In casual use, the term opinion may be the result of a person's perspective, understanding, particular feelings, beliefs, and desires. It may refer to unsubstantiated information, in contrast to knowledge and fact-based beliefs.

Yes, an opinion is a subjective belief of something/one which is based upon their experiences with that object.

This is an opinion: I think this is an excellent album

This is not an opinion: You will think this is an excellent album

This is an opinion: I find this album to be truly unforgettable

This is not an opinion: You will surely find this to be unforgettable

The statement isn't an opinion because subjectivity is removed once you put the object in other people's possession, such as "when YOU" listen to this"

Why does an album have to be unique in order for it to be good? If a band is stuck in a niche and they execute it extremely well then there you have a good album.

it doesn't have to be unique to be good, but ABR are just as generic and in no way different then other bands that here get a lot of shit, so why are they praised? they have released four albums of nothing but boring fucking breakdowns, kiddie lead guitar licks and monotonous vocals. obviously my opinion but i don't understand why they are praised when many other VERY similar bands get crap

I'm not really sure what to tell you Brandon. To be honest, I've always listened to music with "One man's meat is another man's poison" in mind.
