Been digging into this over the past few days after just being generally aware of the hits. This has proven to be a wise decision

I'm sure every time I'm in this comment section I'm repeating myself in some way but The Working Hour has gotta be one of the best pop songs ever given birth to on this silicon-rich marble

This is so awesome. I think The Working Hour and Mothers Talk have clicked with me right from the start and the rest of it kinda just feels right on spot once you're embracing all these pillowy layers. It's crazy to think that the last few tracks make my 90's ass feel nostalgic, bc it weirdly reminds me of Mario 64 so what an impact this must've provided to the scene.

"it sounds crazy dated to me lol" this was a lil reductive on my end ngl lol. jammed this a lil more and think i zeroed in on my issue more precisely:

the guitars, vocals, and horns/sax all sound phenomenal. shit has not aged a day. the synths and keys also sound great. its just that the drums have wayy too much reverb on them lol, so they simultaneously feel too distant from everything else for my liking, while also smudging the clarity of everything else because of how long the tails of the reverb are

holy shit the actual songs here tho lmao unbelievable. top notch sequencing too

Mandela effect: Everybody Wants to Rule the World didn't exist before I listened to it. I don't care if you have any memory of it before this incident, it's most likely fake. You can thank me later.
