That "curious little break" in In the Name of God, actually has a meaning.
Some DT fans were so hardcore that they learned that the clicking during that part was actually morse code. What's more, they actually dared to decipher it. It says "It my *** and balls" twice.
This is probably my second to last favorite DT album. But just because it's in that spot, doesn't mean I don't like it. Heck, I love it, but the only album it's better than is Awake, IMO. Endless Sacrifice is the only absolute classic I take from the album.

Don't forget "so f***ing blind to the damage he has done."
And that curious break in ITNOG actually has a meaning. The clicks are morse code and they spell out "eat my *** and balls" twice.
ToT is probably only my 5th favorite DT album, above Awake and FII. The songs that I loved from it were In the Name of God, Endless Sacrifice, and Honor Thy Father.

This album could get 4 stars from just having "This Dying Soul" on it. That song is so insanely good. I don't get why you said this is the weakest song on the album, it's just so perfect.
All of my friends have this album and they agree with me that this is the best song. But whatever, you're the reviewer! This Message Edited On 08.21.05

I love the opening part of TDS...it's just brilliant. First that heavy as hell riff, then the beautiful solos...awesome.
As I Am is great too...
All in all, i think this album should get a 4.5. It's not perfect, but it's pretty close to it.

I keep this album on my computer to show my friends what happens when you play too much guitar. The solos in Stream of Consciousness and Name of God are truely laughable.
This record marks the point where five musicians finally de-evolved into a guitarist, vocalist, drummer, keyboardist and bassist.
And the lyrics are blush-inducing. Totally embarassing.

Metropolis Part 2: Scenes from a Memory or maybe Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence. Perhaps this one, but it's heavier than other albums. Also check out Images & Words, as it's more rock than metal.

Guys, what do u think should i buy for my first DT album :
1. Train Of Thought
2. Six Degrees...
3. Octavarium
Those 3 are the only available ones right now in my country..
All the reviews that i've read are pretty bit confusing, some says this album is good, some says it's bad... Just like the other 2 albums on the list above...

Six Degrees owns the other two.
6 Degrees > Train of Thought >>> Octavarium
Just trust me.

AntiHero : Well, i'm pretty open-minded, so i'm looking for the best one... I'm confused now..

TOT may not be a good album for DT's usual highly progressive sound, but as a metal album, it's great. 4/5

This is the only Dream Theater album I like.

i liked this album...only thing is sometimes the songs go way off base into jamming...but still...compard to octavrium (forgive me if i spelled it wrong) i liked this 10 times more...i don't know what it is but the new album doesn't move me at all...

Yeah, this is easily better than Octavarium, but that says more than the opinion which I hold Octavarium in rather than my liking for this album in particular. I've been going off Dream Theater at a rate of knots recently, but this is something I can still listen to.
