Imo this is the hardest 5. DHIADW and TGE are strong albums as well but the concept, the lyrics and especially the vocals of Dane are incomparable on this. Btw, the first solo album of his, driven by Witchers of Soilwork fame, is underrated candy.

i know people go wild for Dane's vocals on this, but honestly the abundance of disharmony utilized on this album is something Nevermore never really revisited and it really stands out. I think one of the things that really makes this album work is that Dane is elevated by a style of playing that is, at its core, just a bit manic and uncomfortable
