I like the floating bass on this.
The bass player is up there with Di Giorgio.

I wouldn't say it's excellent, but it does try to be one excellent album.
For one thing, the riffs tend to be repetitive from song to song.
But the musicianship is immense.

One of the best tech death albums I've heard in awhile. I wish they had integrated more of those ambient, acoustic, bass-driven sections though.

Killer shit. Finally a tech death album that isn't nonsensical noodling. Omnipresent steals the show.
I dunno if I'm the only one who gets this vibe, but I feel like this is what Obscura tried to do with
Omnivium.

The drums are absolutely inhuman and the bass is the creamiest thing I've ever heard

"For one thing, the riffs tend to be repetitive from song to song"
I agree with this. Album is lacking in the memorable riff department... but the unique bass and killer drums help make up for this

There have been an awful lot of good canadian releases recently, First Fragments new album and Archspire's "All Shall Align" being the first 2 I can think of off the the top of my head. Compared to those releases, this album may feel a bit less substantial. Why? It may have something to do with their style. Most bands who have good releases have very clearly defined sounds and styles, while Beyond Creation does not yet. It's quite obvious after listening to the first few songs that this album in their debut simply due to its minor lack of clear direction. However, that's not to say this is a bad album, on the contrary it's incredibly well written. The bassist is the clear winner in 'who impresses me more' though, his parts are simply more technically written. This is a very rare occurrence considering that most metal fans and bands get all butt-crazy about how crazy the guitars are. The guitars are still good mind you, but the bass is the main attraction. There really isn't much else I can say except to give it a listen.
Oh, and theres a crazy bass solo in "Omnipresent". Enjoy.
