Still boggles my mind how people can listen to this album and claim that their songwriting isn't there. On paper, this seems destined for directionless wanderings, but in practice, it's far from it. You can trace the structure of any given tune, and their greatest strength is how well they balance every member's contributions.
I dunno how anyone walks away from "Words" thinking it's wank, it just doesn't compute.

Maybe I need to stop searching for another Unexpect. Unexpect was Unexpect and that's a beautiful thing.
Listening to this for the uhhhhh millionth time and it might be a top 5 album for me, top 20 does it a disservice.

No, this is where I admit you'll probably hate it, but seeing Unexpect thread bumps entertains me enough to ignore the potential backlash.
You have keys, a violin, dueling female/male/harsh vocals, zany aesthetic, altogether a fun time. One of the songs is about pumpkins attaining sentience and conquering the globe, you can't ask for more.
