“ Just now I realized these were electronic drums, I just thought the drummer was pretty stark lol”

Nope. Ted Parsons drummed on this album. No drum machine (though there’s few electronic percussion in the opening track). Just recorded and produced questionably drums lol.

You better get ready for more of that robotic real drums. Ted’s on the forthcoming Jesu album coming out sometime whenever Broadrick finishes recording/mixing it. Been awhile since I saw the comment but he gave an interview talking about his career and he briefly mentioned he’s drumming on the album.

Man I want new Jesu SO much. The last collabs with Sun Kil Moon were good stuff (He's Bad is a masterpiece), but I'd prefer a full on Jesu album. Hopefully a return to the more doomy gazy stuff instead of the post rock leaning last album though.

Jesu’s returning to live performances in October w/a few Russian shows and from there, I found out the new album’s gonna be released in July. New album’s called Terminus.

I guess I'm only salty about it because I got the 2xLP, but this re-release really shouldn't have been released as Ascension. It really isn't even fair to call it a remaster. It's a complete redo. I'd say it sounds like Justin just made a cover album of his own album and then released it as if it were that album, but that would just be stupid...

can't you keep it to

keep it to yourself

does it eat you up

like the cancer in us all

swallow your pride

what that will bring

now you're finally...

king of all your kings

you're the king of kings

you'll be the king of kings

you're the king of kings

we'll be the king of kings

there are some good ones on this. Birth Day, Broken Home, and King of Kings are all great. The remixed version (also on spotify) makes some of them sound better too, probably the redo you're referring to Sherange

been spinning this more and honestly some real underrated songs on here, especially Broken Home

yeah I think the "New Mix" version, as it appears to be labeled on Spotify, makes almost all the songs sound worse, particularly in the vocals department (I guess the vocals were already a divisive aspect of this album), but then again I was really used to the originals

the only track on New Mix that I really like as of now is that version of "Sedatives"
