Karl you of all people should be ignoring the production and listening to how good the music is.
And just because an interview Famine has done has been posted on the internet is no hypocrisy on his behalf. All he did was answer an interview.

Dammit, will now have to listen to this.
...fuck it's good.
|
| |
I should probably get this considering I like Ballade and La Sanie
|
| |
Better than Ballade.
|
| |
How does it compare with La Sanie? Fucking love that album.
|
| |
Not as good as that, La Sanie is a fucking masterpiece. Similar in style to Ballade, similar in quality to La Sanie.

Sounds awesome, thanks.

There are always exceptions to the rule ; ). This and their first album in particular really pick at one of my few areas where production becomes annoying. Commencing a relisten!

Thanks, guys. Might take a few spins to get into, but if you enjoy La Sanie or Ballade, I don't see any reason why you won't like this album.

Giving this another chance as I write this.

Nice review for their most underrated album (which is unfair if you ask me). Famine has to be one of the best riff writers in the scene and the bass lines on this album are phenomenal. Neige has close to nothing to do with Peste Noire and he never had any influence on Peste Noire's music in the slightest way possible. Famine would probably want to punch Wizard for writing such a thing. Neige only played session drums on the demos, made some guest vocals here and there, wrote only this song "La Césarienne" but he never played/recorded a single guitar riff on any of Peste Noire's recordings. He was also a guest rhythm guitarist in the first PN concerts.
"La fin del secle" (from "Folkf**k Folie") played in one of those rare Peste Noire performances in one of those tiny venues and hole-in-the-wall bars:

Yeah, pretty cool. I've heard the band actually put up some higher quality video clips of their live stuff on YouTube after seeing some of the poor quality rips.
