No, they were most certainly shit. And they had to follow up O'Brother's amazing performance.
|
| |
haven't heard this yet in full but they sound pretty good
|
| |
So are they good live or not?
Still don't know why O'Brother is the opening act. They should be second to Circa Survive.

Idk man I saw them with La Dispute and they played really well, the vocalist/guitarist didnt move around too much but he was doing both of his parts exceptionally well, especially during "Burden". No guitar tuning during songs. Have nothing to complain about from them

As long as they play well I'll be satisfied, even though this band really isn't my thing. I'm only going to the concert for O'Brother and Circa Survive.

Listen to their song "Only Boundaries", might change your mind on them. A lot of people here prefer their other work to this album but I think this is equally as good. I need to make my way to that show

Badbadbadbad, I will say it a thousand times. And i agree, Ocean. O'Brother literally outclassed every band there and yet they had to open..
|
| |
Shit well if they are that bad live maybe I won't go see them with Touché Amore on the 17th

Chucky, I'd suggest going anyway. O'Brother was absolutely flawless and much better live than on record. Touche always brings it, but my crowd sucked for half of the set, and Circa Survive was extremely tight and knew how to work the crowd. Balance & Composure was just placed poorly in the setlist that your ear pussies had just been blown away by O'Brother and your joy was immediately destroyed by a horrible follow up. Everyone I talked to at the show agreed, so I would like to hear your opinion too.

I wish I had any idea where you were coming from XingKing, B&C killed it when I saw them. People got pretty into them but they aren't as big a name as the bands they play with. They aren't as energetic live as bands like O'Brother and definitely not as energetic as Touche Amore because their music doesn't call for it, most of the songs they play live are pretty somber like Fade, Void, and Burden. You said in a previous comment that the frontman was tuning his guitar and off-rhythm the entire time. Sounds like you just caught them on a poor night where things weren't going well. I wasn't there obviously, but I've seen them and it was quite a different experience.

Let's say I did catch them on a bad night, why do they need three guitarists regardless? It's absurd.
|
| |
^ this is a valid point
However some bands do it well, Foo Fighters, Periphery
well maybe that's it
|
| |
Eh, even the Foo Fighters don't need 3.

I had no idea these guys had 3 guitarist. Don't see why they really need an extra one if people can't even realize they have 3.
|
| |
There are plenty of bands that do three guitars well. O'Brother being one. Oceansize being probably the best example.

I Tore You Apart In My Head is so good

I don't know why this album clicked for me so hard but it's seriously one of my favorite albums ever. It never loses it's replay value to me. There was something so special about the first time I ever heard it, I guess.

Easily a 4, but I can't put it any higher. I expect nothing but progression from this band and a classic album in the future. Definite Brand New vibe too them, but not directly. Their Tigers Jaw split is fantastic.
